Water is a very important part of our lives. Everyone needs water to exist. It is a universal need. It is so basic that we don’t even think much about it. However, it is a sad fact of life that there are still many people who do not have access to clean drinking water. I was talking to a woman earlier today. She lives in the city, with all her siblings, their children and grandchildren. She says the water that comes out of their faucet is brownish. But they cannot afford to buy clean drinking water. They boil the water when they can (which isn’t very often, as that would mean spending more for fuel) and prioritize the young children. It is no wonder, then, that they are prone to diseases. It is unfortunate that the government is not able to provide something so basic like water to all its citizens.
