Merienda is the time for snack between meals. My childhood friend and her mom invited us over for merienda this afternoon. Since they knew that we had guests from the US, they decided to serve native merienda. There was turon (sliced saba bananas wrapped in lumpia wrapper and fried), fried kamote (sweet potato), pancit bihon, two kinds of bibingka (rice cake), chiffon cake and leche flan. Everything they served was delicious. Our guests enjoyed all the food. Today, I am grateful for the delectable snacks that we enjoyed.
