Grateful Project Day 91: Frisbee

My son is not particularly athletic. He goes for karate training once a week, but that’s about it. He’s tried different sports – basketball, tennis, soccer, badminton, swimming – but he can’t find one he likes. For the summer break, we wanted him to attend one of the sports clinics being offered in my daughter’s school. He saw one that offered Ultimate Frisbee and decided to sign up for that. Frisbee is big in his school. He wanted the chance to learn more about it so he try out for the varsity team next year. At first, we couldn’t find a ride that will bring him to the venue and back home. But he was so persistent, he was probably willing to walk there if he had to. It was a good thing we were able to make arrangements for his transportation. So he joined the course.

Today, we were able to watch him play. It was a very tiring session. The coach made them run a lot, aside from the tossing and catching of the frisbee. But he enjoyed it. He really wants to get better at this. So I am grateful that he has found a sport that he likes, one that will keep him active this summer.
